What Is a Transaction ID/Hash?

Modified on Wed, 30 Nov, 2022 at 1:58 PM

Transaction ID/hash is a Transaction Identifier that you can use to find a specific transaction in the blockchain.

Each and every single transaction that is conducted on the blockchain has this unique alphanumeric identifier.

Once you make a transaction, it gets broadcasted and a TX ID is generated. Using the transaction ID, one can easily track a transaction and check its status. In public blockchains, it's possible to find out all the details of the transfer such as the sender address, receiver address, total amount sent, the date of transfer, block height, fees paid, and the number of confirmations. Transaction Hash and IDs contain no personal information so it is safe to share.
